SLU-PP-332
Also known as Pan-ERR agonist
A synthetic small molecule that activates estrogen-related receptors, studied in the context of mitochondrial biogenesis.
What it is
SLU-PP-332 is a small molecule rather than a peptide, developed at Saint Louis University. It acts as an agonist at estrogen-related receptors (ERRs), a family of nuclear receptors involved in regulating how cells produce and use energy. Despite the name, these receptors are not activated by estrogen.
What published research examines
- Mitochondrial biogenesis and oxidative metabolism
- Endurance capacity in rodent models, where it has been described as an exercise mimetic
- Energy expenditure and fat oxidation in animal studies
- ERR-alpha signalling in skeletal muscle
Where the research stands
SLU-PP-332 is a recent compound and the published work is entirely preclinical. Human data does not yet exist.
